Weekend homework - Prime, Square and Triangular numbers and comets

This weekend I would like you to revise prime, square and triangular numbers. We have done work on all of these previously. The aim is to learn prime numbers to at least 30. Be confident in square numbers and square roots (the opposite) to 100. Be confident that you know what a triangular number is. Here are some links to help you:

Have a good weekend,

PS If anyone wanted to make a video about the prime numbers etc they could email it to the class email address and I will post it on the blog
PPS Here is the link to the BBC site for the news stories on the comet we discussed.

A challenge for you: (from Nrich)

Try with the squares of the numbers between 4 and 20.
Did you find any square numbers which cannot be made by adding two prime numbers together?

A video made in maths.

We have been investigating diagonals. One group (Samantha and Ajmal) had the opportunity to use the ipad to record their thinking. Here is one of the videos:

Mean, Mode, Median and Range

Today we have been recapping the different ways we can look at data. Henry and Daniela made a quick video to remind us of how to calculate each one. It was their first go at using and ipad app called Explain Everything and they put this together in less than 20 minutes. Well done both of you.
Here is the video for you to watch as a reminder:

Homophones

This weeks spellings are a little different. You need to find the matching homophones to the words I have given you and be confident about their usage as I will be testing you by saying a sentence and then asking for the correct spelling of the word to be recorded. Here are some games I have found:

I will add more if I find them, please feel free to send me a comment with other ones you find.
