Apps and websites to help with your homework and project

Today we talked about ensuring you have learnt the maths facts, the current sheet plus the new one I gave you today.
There is a good flash card app called: Flashcards++
The version I tested was free.
My tip is that when you make a set of card put all the words on the front and the definitions/answers on the back otherwise you will be in a muddle when you use them to quiz yourself.

I have found a suitable one for Android called: Study Cards, which is also free.
I would welcome any other suggestions.

 Apps for your project:
 Star walk
 Solar system
NASA
Exoplanet - focusing on alien life forms
Here is a good review of several apps

The Ice cube experiment

Here is some information about what we did in class today.  Freeze some ice cubes that you have coloured with some food dye.You need to use room temperature or warm water. Put the ice cube in and watch the cold water that is coloured fall down to the bottom. This water is colder and therefore denser. As that water reaches the same temperature as the rest it will move upwards as more cold goes down.

Another idea as shown in this video it to see the difference between fresh water and salty water.
 Have fun.
